The beauty of the surrounding nature, the luxuriance of the colors, the diversity of the fauna and flora stimulate the imagination of Marie-Denise Douyon and influences her palette, with new brightness. Fascinated by the luxuriance of nature, she uses, among others, banana leaves as stencils to create on large canvases a series, she entitles Bigger than Nature.

The artist has the desire to work with local materials. She creates with metal parts recovered from the local mechanic shop and wooden trays haggled at the handicraft market. During her first weeks in Panama, Douyon created Los Platos, a series with a strong dominating blue palette, which she entitled Construction Indigo.
